Rebekah Terrell MS, LPC
From a young age, I knew it was my calling to help people. When I personally experienced the comfort, healing and growth that therapy provided, I knew that I had found my purpose. I cannot tell you how much my work with clients over the past seven years has enriched and beautified my life. During this time of constant change and global crisis, I believe attention to mental health and emotional healing has become increasingly essential for many people. My thoughts consistently turn to ways I can support people using my passion and experience.
The greatest predictor of positive change in therapy is the relationship between the client and the therapist. I experience genuine joy connecting with my clients as we work together to find ways to create authentic and meaningful change. Therapy can provide a safe place to uncover who we are, to heal from childhood wounds and other traumatic events, to celebrate our strengths, and to create a new roadmap for our lives. Therapy can be a place we can learn to love ourselves again! And sometimes therapy is simply education about the human condition, learning about the ways we avoid the difficulty of accepting change through addiction, self-hatred, isolation, and self-destructive behaviors. Within a trusting and safe therapeutic alliance, we can create goals that can help free you from the old patterns that have kept you stuck, and help you become more aligned with how you envision and hope your life’s journey will continue.
As a life-long learner and seeker, my ongoing areas of interest include religious trauma, complex PTSD, recovering from narcissistic and abusive relationships and non-traditional relationships/partnerships. One of the most important and interesting aspects of my practice is de-stigmatizing mental health problems within the community. I am also interested in the expanding research of evidence-based treatments for mental health conditions in the field of cannabis-assisted and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.
